From The Top: that’s a wrap…

That is indeed a wrap.  We have released the final episode of ‘From The Top’ – our original content series for The Olympic Channel, with our founder Sir Elton John as Executive Producer.  The show marks another major stride forward for our content production arm, and one very exciting ride.

From conception in the Summer of 2020 to delivery in January 2022, we’ve been working to show the world what amazing parallels lie behind the stars of sport and music.  Not to mention working around the ever changing challenges of COVID much to the joy of the producers!

Working alongside us was our production partner Bullitt, which is co-owned by Joe and Anthony Russo in Los Angeles. This collaboration brought together a unique package of knowledge and experience in the worlds of music, sport and entertainment. And we at Rocket Sports were perfectly placed to create this cross-over TV series exploring the nexus of sport and music.

The series format looks at the career of an Olympic athlete through the eyes of a rock star– a profile of greatness as told from greatness. Through a conversation between the musician and athlete we are taken on a journey, beginning with the first twinkles of their passion, down the road towards Olympic glory. In turn, we learn about the rock star’s own journey and the parallels between their drive to perform at their best, the work that has gone into getting there, and the rewards for having achieved their goal.

This inaugural series introduced five inspired pairings including some of the world’s most current artists; YungBlud, Sofia Carson and The Vamps, alongside Olympians; Anna Gasser, Charlotte Worthington and Sky Brown.  When starting From The Top we set out to create something fun, inspiring and beautiful… The format made some unique bonds between these incredibly talented people, and we loved every minute of making it. We hope you enjoy!

Ps. The title was going to include a very good pun about ‘That’s a rap(per)’ but there aren’t any rappers in this series, so we couldn’t. Watch out Series 2 though…
